ITE Part 1

We managed to sneak into Philly for the first weekend of the ITE show at the Woodturning Center. Some really good work by the residents. I apologize for my not even amateur photography but if you visit the Woodturning Center site I am sure you can find much better images.

Norm Sartorius Visits DC CWA

In another of our ongoing chats with artists visiting town, we were lucky that Norm Satorius and his lovely wife Diane, were recently in town to send their son Andrew off to Japan to teach for a year.

Since we asked everyone to bring a spoon or two I imagine we had the largest exhibition of Norm Sartorius work ever displayed, ranging from his smallest spoon to his largest.

It was just great.

OK, got a few facts today from Tib Shaw at AAW about the auction. Remember there is a nice catalog of all the work in the show available from AAW.
You can see all the work in the show at http://www.woodturner.org/sym/sym2010/pop/details/index.htm

41 artists invited to participate. Sonny Kamm was high bidder on 33.

Auction raised $93,700, half going to the artists, half to the POP group within AAW.
